Baca Gitu Loh - Saudi Arabia's Chief Hajj Organizing Officer (PPIH) Subhan Cholid returned to review the preparations for the tents for Indonesian pilgrims in Arafah. Monitoring is carried out periodically to ensure progress in preparing services for Indonesian pilgrims.
There are a number of services prepared for the congregation, including tents with mattresses, air conditioning and lighting, kitchens and toilets.
Subhan Cholid assessed that there was good progress in the preparation process compared to conditions on 26 May 2023.
"Yesterday evening, I looked back at the preparations at Arafah. There have been significant developments. The kitchen has been prepared, consumption continues to be accelerated. There will also be 10 additional bathrooms in each maktab," explained Subhan Cholid at Arafah, Tuesday (30/5/2023).
"I also reviewed construction materials, and everything is ready to be installed," he continued.
Indonesian pilgrims are divided into 70 schools in Arafah. Each Maktab numbered around 3,000 congregations. Previously, each school had prepared 40 toilets and around 10 faucets for ablution. This year, the school will prepare another 10 new toilets.
"Gus Men is very concerned about improving services, including toilets at Arafah. This year there are 10 new toilets per school, eight sitting toilets and two squatting," said Subhan.
"The sitting toilet is important because it is hoped that it will make it easier for the elderly congregation," he continued.
Subhan also reviewed the readiness of the tents and their services. Nearly 90% of the tents have been installed. The current stage is compacting a layer of fine sand which will become the tent floor, before installing the carpet.
Subhan saw that several tents had been completed, complete with carpets, air conditioners, and lighting. "In the tent foam and pillows wrapped in white cloth have been prepared as the congregation's beds. There are also blankets," explained Subhan.
"The capacity of the tents varies according to the area. However, the space prepared at Arafah for each congregation is an average of 1.6 square meters," he conveyed.
Subhan hopes that all services at Arafah will be ready on 6 Zulhijjah 1444 H or three days before standing. ***
