Prime, Minister of Religion Departs Hajj Flight from Kertajati Airport. Kertajati embarkation will dispatch 24

Baca Gitu Loh - West Java, Indonesia - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas sent off the departure of the first batch of pilgrims from Kertajati Embarkation (KJT-01), at West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka, West Java. This is the first hajj flight since Kertajati Airport was established.

"This is the first flight for pilgrims in northern West Java," said Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in Majalengka, West Java, Sunday (28/5/2023).

"Next year, we will try to set a scenario for pilgrims from western and southern Central Java to also depart from here," he added.

Based on data from the Integrated Hajj Computerized Information System (Siskohat), the KJT-01 group consists of 366 pilgrims and eight officers. The first group from the Kertajati Embarkation came from Majalengka Regency.

During the 1444H/2023M Hajj season, Kertajati Embarkation will dispatch 24 groups of West Java pilgrims from seven regencies/cities, namely: Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, Indramayu Regency, Majalengka Regency, Kuningan Regency, Sumedang Regency and Subang Regency.

The Minister of Religion also took the time to talk with the pilgrims at Kertajati Airport. Especially for elderly pilgrims, the Minister of Religion advised them to maintain their physical condition during worship. "If you need anything, immediately ask for help from officers, don't hesitate," ordered the Minister of Religion.

He also reminded that the weather conditions in Saudi Arabia were very high. "I checked earlier, today the temperature reached 50 degrees Celsius. Don't forget to use personal protective equipment if you want to do activities outside," said the Minister of Religion.

"Bring an umbrella or hat, also bring water spray to wet your face or skin exposed to the sun. And don't forget to drink frequently to avoid dehydration," continued the Minister of Religion.

Also attending to send off the KJT-01 Kloter departure, Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI Ace Hasan Sadzily, Member of Commission VIII DPR RI, Director General of PHU Hilman Latief, Inspector General of Ministry of Religion Faisal, and Head of Regional Office of Ministry of Religion West Java Ajam Mustajam. ***
