Baca Gitu Loh - West Java, Indonesia - A truck was swept away by a flash flood on the Cibeet River, Bogor Regency, West Java. The truck was carried away by the swift current of the river.
The seconds the truck drifted away were recorded by the residents' cameras. When it was carried away by the flood, it was seen that the truck was in the middle of a river with a fast flow.
"The car, yeuh, the car was brought down by the caah (this car was carried away by the flood)," said the video recorder.
Truck 'Disappeared'
A number of residents witnessed the truck being carried away by the current. Not long after, the truck drifted and 'disappeared' from the surface of the water.
The incident occurred on Friday (19/5) afternoon. Tanjungsari Police Chief Iptu Rustami said there were no casualties in the incident.
The driver and driver of the truck survived, while the truck that was swept away has not been found.
"This incident did not cause any fatalities. Only one truck unit was swept away by the currents of the Cibeet River, which until now has not been found," said Rustami, in his statement, Saturday (20/5/2023).
The incident started when the truck was transporting sand in the area. Then the driver was surprised by a flash flood that suddenly came crashing.
"The rush of the water caused residents who were loading sand onto trucks to scatter and run to save themselves to the riverbank. The Tanjungsari Police, who came to the scene, immediately conducted a TKP investigation," he explained. ***
