According to a report by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake was recorded at 16.50 WIB.
The location of the earthquake was at 6.26 South Latitude and 106.91 East Longitude or 4 KM Southeast of East Jakarta. The earthquake was centered on land with a depth of 313 KM.
Head of the BMKG Earthquake and Tsunami Center Daryono said the earthquake was not dangerous, so people need not worry.
"The earthquake was caused by a fault in the slab of the Indo-Australia plate which was subducted under the Eurasian plate under West Java," he said via his Twitter account @DaryonoBMKG. ***
