Dozens of villages in Demak Regency were affected by tidal floods, the water level reached 100 centimeters.

Based on data from the BPBD Demak Pusdalops, Tuesday (5/16/2023), four sub -districts that are still experiencing the phenomenon of tidal floods are currently in Sayung District, Karangtengah District, Bonang District, and Wedung District. The height of the tidal flood varies from 20 cm to the most severe reaching 100 cm.

"It's quite severe in Sayung in Sriwula, Bedono, TensiSloko, Sidogemah, and Surodadi. Then in Bonang in Margolinduk, Morodemak, and Purworejo, "said the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Demak Regency, Agus Nugroho.

In detail, dozens of villages affected by tidal floods namely in the north of Sayung are in Sriwulan, Purwosari, Bedono, TensiSloko, Sidogemah, Surodadi, Banjarsari, Sidorejo, Tugu, Gemulak. While in the south is in Sayung, Loreng, Tambakroto and Kalisari.

Then in Karangtengah is in Tambakbabuan and Wonoagung. While in Bonang there are in Margolinduk, Morodemak, Purworejo, Tridonorejo and Gebang. Finally in Wedung is in the village of Wedung (Hamlet Siklepi, Onggojoyo), Kedungmutih and Babalan.

Meanwhile, residents of Sayung Lor Village, Sayung District, Ibrahim, 37, said that the tidal floods that occurred in the last two years were completely different than the previous year or before the Semarang-Demak toll road. Previously, tidal floods were only as high as ankles but lately could almost knee-length adults.

"Almost knee -length [water level]. Anyway, since there is a toll that starts frequently. Previously rare or for example this was not this bad. In addition, there is also a road improvement, wow, it is more bad at this afternoon, "Ibrahim explained.

Ibrahim hopes that the Semarang-Demak Toll Road which was previously predicted as a prevention of rob can be completely realized. Because, the phenomenon of tidal floods that occur every day really bother the surrounding and outside Demak people who also crossed the Semarang-Demak Pantura road.
