12 Houses of Residents of Nagan Raya, Aceh, Damaged by a Tornado. Disaster Mystery Continues to Occur

Baca Gitu Loh - Sumatra, Indonesia - Residents' houses were seen damaged by falling trees due to being hit by a tornado in Bang Seumot Village, Beutong District and Blang Bayu Village, East Seunagan District, Nagan Raya, Monday (23/4).

Strong winds accompanied by heavy rain caused 12 houses in Beutong District and parts of East Seunagan Nagan Raya Regency to be damaged by falling trees, Monday (23/4) at 16.30 WIB.

A resident of Blang Seumot Village, Ahmat Yani, told journalists that the disaster was unexpected and came suddenly and caused panic because at that time it was raining accompanied by lightning," he said.

The incident is expected to take place at around 17.30 WIB, explained Ahmat Yani.

He added, as soon as a resident's house was damaged, he immediately contacted Tagana and BPBD and the Social Service for emergency response.

Meanwhile in Blang Seumot Said Safrizal confirmed that several houses were hit by trees due to strong winds. "But we, from the village apparatus, are still recording how many houses were damaged and the losses," he said

Meanwhile, in Blang Bayu Village, East Seunagan District, it was reported that a house was also damaged by a tornado and a tree fell on it. There were no casualties but the loss was estimated at millions of rupiah.

Head of BPBD Nagan Raya, Irfanda Rinadi, when confirmed, explained that the team had dispatched a team to the location.

"It is true that there is information that the house was damaged by a tree, and we have received that information and now the team is at the location to carry out an emergency response," said Irfanda.

The twelve houses that were hit by trees and damaged were those of Usman Pari, Abdul Rani, Abdullah, Jamaluddin, Abdul Majid, Tgk Mahyyidin, Safrida, Raimah, Nur Asrin, Hasballah, Bustamam and Hasan Basri. ***
